ArtRage from version 4.5 takes full advantage of the potential of graphics tablets. The later versions (Studio, Studio Pro, and ArtRage 4) include more standard digital tools, such as Select, Transform, Cloner, Symmetry, Fill, and custom. There will also customizable grid overlays, and the Pencil Tool will now support Tilt as you paint, as long as you’re using a compatible stylus. Several types of paper and canvas can be selected as the substrate. The app is also available on both the PC and Mac platforms and will be updated to version 4.5 So what can users look forward to in version 4.5? Well according to the developers, they have updated the app with a 64-bit engine that they claim will feature a big speed gain and will be able to support larger files.
ArtRage 4.5 is a free upgrade for registered users of ArtRage 4 (just head to the member’s area to download), or can be purchased from ArtRage for 50.
Users will be able to use the app to do all sorts of painting on their iOS device, so if you’re an artist and you don’t want to take your notebook with you on the go, then perhaps ArtRage could be worth taking a look at. I’ve been using ArtRage primarily on my Cintiq Companion ( an all-in-one portable darkroom ), but have also made use of it on my Surface Pro and on my desktop with a more traditional Wacom stylus. 4.5 is the most responsive version of the digital art software ever great for both digital painting veterans and novices, it remains a popular choice for artists. So what is ArtRage? Well for those unfamiliar, the app is a painting app designed for iOS devices. A faster, smoother version of ArtRage with brilliant customisable grids. The app itself is normally priced at $1.99 but now that it’s free, if you’re wondering what all the fuss is about, then you can go check it out. The app will be free from the 24-27th of July to celebrate the launch of the event and also to celebrate the release of the upcoming ArtRage 4.5 and other 64-bit versions of the app. Comic-Con is taking place tomorrow and it seems that with the launch of the event, the developers behind the ArtRage app on iOS has decided to make it free for the iPhone version.
